I need a printer to make my work easier, having FedEx come here and pick up rather than squeezing boxes into my Honda Civic. Shipping stuff out is the worst part of my job, so I intend to make it easier.

So I need a printer :D

I only need black and white, I want something that is reliable and I think I'd rather work with toner than little ink cartidges that last only a week. I plan to print up to 200 pages per month max.

I am looking at a HP LaserJet 1022. Anyone else have any ideas, gripes, complaints, praise?

I would say you can hardly go wrong with HP (at least as far as printing goes - but I would not say that for their computers).

The 1022 is a decent little printer.. Check out the Dell 1700 series lasers.. if you can find one cheap on ebay they are "decent".. theyre loud, but decently fast. I wouldnt "recommend" one, but if you can get one for $50.. it would do what you need.

Otherwise stick with the 1022.. I have 5-10 of them that clients use.. and they have few complaints.

Also check out ebay for fedex shipping labels.. I paid $10 for 1000 of them.. makes life SO much easier to just sticker them on than tape them on.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to go with this HP. Ewiz has a pretty good deal on one. And I will definitely look for those fedex labels Stan, thanks.

I have a Brother 5150D, the "D" is for duplex (double-sided). Double-sided won't come in handy for printing labels, but it's extremely useful for most everything else.

It prints very crisp text and graphics, and it doesn't look as bulky as a lot of HP's newer printers. I love it!
