3 new tires down the drain, alignment out of wack, and I have to replace all 4 since my car is AWD. FML.

If they are all new, then no you don't have to replace all four.

Are you an Asian female? Did you aim for the potholes while driving 30 over the speed limit?

Well.. relatively new. Only had them for 4 months, 6k miles. Actually I should've mentioned that when they had the car up on the lift, that another tire had a bubble on it as well. So 3 problem tires in total.

No, but apparently I missed the biggest pothole I've ever encountered. I thought I was being transported into the 7th ring of hell.

lol I did the same thing once with my old Galant + rubber band tires. I was on my way to work and drove in with 2 flat and one bubbled tire. Ended up getting the 2 flat ones replaced, and patched the bubbled one from inside.

I served on a jury once where a guy was suing a town because of a pothole that fucked up his car. we ruled in his favor.

Maybe he was swerving to miss an animal on the road while speeding through on on or off ramp in a car that has all the bells and whistles.

And to think I am considering getting some for the summer. I can feel that it is a mistake already.

My BF wrote a letter to the mayor of the town where he broks a tire in a huge pothole, enclosing the bill for a new one and they paid it.

WTF

Maybe he was driving in Michigan.

heh. when i lived in MI, I had the same issues. potholes messed up 3 or 4 of my low-pros. Low profile tires are NOT covered by roadside hazard either, so you are definitely screwed.

I live in the greater Boston Area where all the streets have massive potholes so when I got my tires I paid extra for road hazard insurance for them so they'd be replaced in case of a situation like the OP's

While making fast unsignaled lane changes in heavy traffic.

Well in our area with the economy and all the cut backs the cities don't have enough money to fix all the potholes and in the Greater Boston area with the heavy Winters there is a shit load of them. I've had to replace my brake lines and exhaust thanks in part to potholes.

Actually, Granholm is going nuts with the bailout money fixing every freaking thing in the state at the same time. I saw state construction workers repouring the sidewalk near my work (the road is still considered a state road, old M-59) :|

I think she is doing her best to spend every penny on useless crap, rather than put it towards covering potential tax breaks for industries.
