I hate poker

Mrvile

Lifer
I've got QQ on the small blind and 4 people call flop comes 4 7 J, I bet 100, two fold, one guy raises, I push, he calls with KJ, he catches a J on the river. I hate poker I'm never playing again.

maybe you just didn;t bet hard enough the first time, plus part of poker is luck, but only a small part

Yep, that's what makes poker such a difficult game. Basically, a certain percentage of the time you can do everything perfectly and still end up losing. Other times you do everything wrong, and still end up winning. Such is life, just chalk it up as a bad beat, and live to play another day. Luck always evens out over time, skill does not.

I love poker.
I won a mini "bracelet" in our game last night.

It was LUCK.

Flop was Qs Js 9s
He had Q and something else....high pair.
I had As K?

He went all in.
I showed him my cards and said let me think if I should go fishing or not.
One more spade for a flush or 10 for a straight......will I catch any fish ???
I knew he had high pair on board before he even showed it.

We were playing a 2nd game anyway so I said WTF.....called and got another SPADE.
$200 richer 🙂

I used to like poker.

then this whole poker fad started and it seems like ever twelve year old with their parents credit card is trying to get in on my game.

Well I just played another smaller game to win back the money I lost and I won plus some so it's all good.

Regarding any poker thread (not just yours OP)...i'm sure it was intense and all when it happened, but explaining what happened at your poker game after the fact loses something...reading about what cards someone had in their hand is probably as interesting as reading a WNBA box score...

Someone correct me if I am wrong on this one...anyway, my 0.02....

No but I still got slutted. This was online.

What was your pre flop raise? If you just limped in you're asking for it imo. But we don't really have enough info here.

I, on the other hand love poker 😉 Playing 3/6 at Pacific tonight. First hand at a full table with a bunch of maniacs who I'd been watching for a bit before I sat down. I'm in the bb and get dealt 35o. There's a raise right in front of me and all but two call. At that point I'm getting great odds to call with just about anything so I call. Flop comes 553. Truly beautiful. Took down a $147 pot off that hand.

i don't know about that call, sure you're getting 13 to 1 on your money, but you're really only drawing to a miracle full house

lol, that sucks. Think about it this way though, it would have sucked even worse with pocket rockets.

EXACT hand I busted out of a $100 tourny last night. AA in the hole and push all on after the flop of J high, he caught his third and I busted to his KJ. Stupid KJ, I FEEL THE OP PAIN!

he is getting 16 to 1 on that one $3 * 14 bets (7 players) + BB (was already in) + his call = $48

and he doesnt have to get a full house to win he could very well win with a straight, two pair, 3 of a kind etc.

at 16 to 1 he only needs a 6.25% chance to win to make money which he certainly did have
