I hate people who keep calling back

I hate it when someone isn't in the office for a day or has just stepped out for a break and someone calls their phone... fifty freaking times in a row. It happens all the time around here. I can't stand it. Do they honestly think the person was just ignoring their first 40 calls and voicemails and that they'll change their mind when they call for the 41st time?

I'd say the worst phone etiquette I've seen is when someone calls, leaves a long, slow, incredibly detailed message, then right at the end squeezes their phone number in as fast as possible. If you want me to call you back, make your number fscking audible.

how do you know its the same person over and over again?

what really annoys me is when people call and the other person isn't there and they let the phone ring 15 times before they hang up. if its not answered in 2-3 in an office environment, they aren't there or don't want to talk to you. its not like you have to give them 5 rings to get across the cubicle.

Right, but the person calling was probably waiting for voice mail to kick in. Who doesn't have voice mail in today's day and age?

no these were other people in the same building. only the supervisors had voicemail. was really retarded but so was everything else about the way they operated.

That is an easy fix around my office. I just set the phone to DND mode. Never rings and automatically goes to voice mail.

I like to think of it this way, I work in a hospital, if I can hard charge it across my unit to answer our unit phone in 3 rings or less then so should someone sitting in an office. Unless I'm put on hold....that annoys hte fsck outta me
