It just peaves me to no end to see people cheat in games. If you gotta cheat, in my book you have no skill. I'd rather get my butt mopped across the map than have to cheat to win. Where's the honor in that? If I'm gonna win, I'm gonna do it fair and square and the right way.

Example. Got onto a hacked Enemy Territory server tonight and we got smoked. Now don't think I'm lame. My average XP for 6 rounds is in the 900-1200 range on average. We played as allies and nobody on my team pulled in more than 220 points after 2 rounds of very intence play, and the one with 220 was me!! Closest was 214. I should have easily been in the 300's by the end of round 2. The lowest axis player was 550 xp. Highest was 884!!! Now you tell me that server isn't hacked and that team isn't cheating! Screw punk buster catching the cheaters cause PB was turned off on the server.

One reason I know that the other team was cheating is I've done some experimenting and there is no physical way possible to get over 600 xp after 2 rounds no matter what you do. The chance at points just doesn't exist. The highest I've ever seen is 450 points after 2 rounds and that was the captain of a top ranked league team!! Now obviously this isn't the first time I've been on a FPS or RTS or any kind of multiplayer server and not gotten creamed by cheaters. I got it in RTCW, CS, WC3, C&C, and many other online multiplayer games I've played. It sucks. WTH can't people learn to play without cheating? If you have no skill, then either play a lot and gain some skill, or quit gaming. Don't be a noob and ruin it for the rest of us!!

WTF was CR's post? Oh well.

Yes, I agree. People who cheat suck complete ass. OMG, just pissing me off cuzz I got my ass whipped across the map in Starcraft by some "hackerz" who's buddy wrote a script for. Came into the game and launched into our races and positions off the bat. Fucken loser. Wait, that game we owned the hackers. It was the next one where I also had the luck to get two noob partners (i don't mind loosing cuzz of newb partners, but hackers suck ass!).

You know what I hate? People who suck at whatever game they're playing and then scream "so and so is cheating, it's the only way I could have died so much". That and the grenade launchers on desert combat...how the hell is an attacker supposed to live through a point blank grenade shot on their target?

CR, if you hate my posts, don't reply, don't view them, just ignore them. Problem solved.

TheBoyBlunder: I don't cry if people beat me fair and square. I agree that point blank grenade means you're dead. It's when you're at 100% health, idiot boy comes up to you with a pistol and pops you dead with one shot. That's obvious blatant cheating.

TommyVercetti: Not a clue how to do it. All I know is people are able to survive panzers head on and kill you with measily pistol shots even if you're at full health. It's even more obvious that they're cheating when they aren't even aiming at you and STILL hit you.

HAHAHA. Dream on. The only reason I got banned the first time was because of a misunderstanding between me and the mods. We got that straightened out fine, otherwise I wouldn't be back.

The reason I got banned the first time was no fault of my own or the mods. Just a little confusion that took a bit of time to sort out. :)

Yeah I know...stop it you guys...whoops I was getting involved too. ;)

Cheating in online games is damn annoying, I remember playing SOF a while back and there was one guy who was flying all over the place and could not be killed....well I hope he enjoyed winning....and then went out and picked a fight with an ant....another fair fight :|

I guess you didn't try switching teams to see what would happen to your score?

I've been on RtCW servers where people played on the same server so often that the cooperation seemed perfect, eventhough they were not in the same clan. If most of them ended up on one team it gave extremely short and uneven games, where often indeed the lowest score on our team was higher than the highest on theirs. It doesn't matter whether you are good if you join a server dedicated to one map, with players who exactly know where there team members are at which point, and what part is covered or not.

For those who know mp_tank: If at 30 seconds the Allies are pinned down at their spawn from both sides, and Axis manage to take the objective and bring it back, teams are not quite evenly matched.

I have been on servers like that. I don't think the players are cheating. I think that the server may have configurable settings and that one side is just heavily handicapped or something. It is really frustrating. It is almost as bad as when you get on a clan server and the clan all gets on one team and smokes everyone else that is unaffiliated. The teams become lopsided and they stay that way and the winning team just sits there and puffs themselves up feeling like they are real good.

The server I was on wouldn't let you join Axis, even if allies had more players. IT told me that Axis was locked, but I could go and become allies or observer all I wanted.

Probubly should have switched servers, but the experience was good. Even if they were cheating, the experience I gained fighting them was priceless. There's no learning experience like being totally outmatched. Makes you get really creative. :)

Yeah, I have tried to play through. I am glad to hear that I am not crazy though about this. I swore that their was some imbalancing going on but everyone denied it. I would shoot people so many times and then they'd hit me a few and I'd die.

There was/is a wall hack going around. I was on a server where a couple of guys were just nailing people. They would snipe you as you came around a corner. What really got me noticing was in the gold stealing map, I was hiding in the gold room in a near corner so that you won't see me until I shoot you in the back. The guy came in and turned right at me and shot me.

I wish there was a better system for dealing with cheaters than at present. Currently there's this sort of vigilante/tribal justice where each server gets to make up it's own rules and enforce them in it's own way. Though I have seen judicial councels start up for a specific game, but then die along with the game's popularity usually.

At present I'm in the midst of two cheating fiascos and I only play two games. In racing, where I participate in leagues, some friends have been accused of exploiting driving aids in the game to cheat ~ luckily a patch will end that, but in the meantime I've managed to get myself in the middle of it by defending a friend. Mere whispering among other league members at present, but it's still insulting to those doing well. Hope that patch gets out soon.

The other game is MoH, where I just play for fun. Except apparently I was playing too well the other day, got screenshots requested, happily sent them off. Then got banned for hacking. I don't have any mods except a few new maps, not even different scopes which I consider close to cheating, so I know I'm clean. Even so, I asked the operator of another server (run by a clan with a clean reputation) to review the same shots to see if he could figure out what the original server operator thought was out of order. He found nothing stranger about them than I. Yet here I am, accused and convicted (banned) of cheating on one server and possibly suspected of cheating by people I run across a lot because there's no way to appeal or even get the server operator to read and reply to his email. Guess it shouldn't bug me, but it does.

I'm with you in hating cheaters. At the same time I almost prefer cheaters to flawed solutions and uninformed people policing their servers to the detriment of people who do nothing more than play better than them on a certain night. Think it's time to look for a console gaming system again, find some nice sports games and play offline. Online's more trouble than it's worth sometimes.

Cheaters suck. But it sucks even more when one of your own teammates sabotages you.

In RtCW, this one jerk kept calling in airstrikes on our own spawn point. Friendly fire was off, so instead of gibbing us respawners immediately, we would end up being thrown a hundred feet in the air (which was kind of cool the first dozen times or so) and then dying upon impact with the ground. It took me awhile to figure out WTF was going on.

Well, I'm going to play another round tonight and see if I can identify that server again. Didn't think to write down the name or IP last night. If I find it again I'll let you guys know so you can avoid it. Or if you want the experience of playing a totally impossible round, that'll be a good server for ya. Hone your skills. :)

Counter Strike was heaven :)

i bet you could find that. i imagine a god code would be too obvious it must just be XP with full benefits.

Ah, a team TK'er finding a way to TK everyone without having the ability to do it directly.

Yeah, that would definately be one way to do it. Put certain people on max XP benefits, then make everyone else have to dig and claw to get any themselves.
