God this is ridiculous. I need to have a medical form history filled out for grad school and it's apparently not covered in the medical benefits so they're going to charge me $65 to do that, while a complete physical is charged at $55?

All I need to do is to have somebody (not even a MD just a nurse pratitioner will do) pull a file off the medical records cabinet and answer like 6 questions, and that's going to be $65?

Then they're seeing people who just want birth control pills for free?

sounds like they are doing more than what my school's health service does. ibuprofen is the end all, be all panacea. they don't even really take a look at what ails you. they just write prescriptions for super-sized ibuprofen pills.

Health insurance doesn't cover that sort of thing, either. You pay out of pocket for stuff like that, and for physicals for pilot's license or CDL. It's nuts, because the physicals that they DO cover for free are MUCH more elaborate than the licensing physicals.

same with health services in Canada! I can get free treatment for cancer but if I need a doctor's not saying thats why I missed school it will cost me $20-$30...
