I hate my school bookstore...

So my teacher finally received the books he ordered in the school bookstore today. My plan was to buy the book, order it online and then return it once the other book has arrived.

Well, come to find out that they have a TWO day return policy. Which sucks bad. I'm going to return it and just not use the book for a few days.

Still, it's a pain.

Oh, why didn't I have the ISBN before? The teacher said something about not knowing it or something, I can't remember.

No, the bookstore messed up in the begining of the year and these books were not in the original requirements. So the teacher had to request the book again to be on the list and they finally just got all the books into the store now. Meaning... nobody has had the book until now.

I'm just whining about their return policy... that is all. :)

Why bother buying the book? Just go to the library and use the available copy (copies).

i, too, hate my bookstore. I called it before classes even began to ask for ISBN numbers, they wouldn't give it to me. By circumstance, I had to buy all my books from the bookstore and spent about $600 (and still have another book to purchase). I even have some used books.

I can't blame them for implementing that policy since so many people just buy the book and return it after the one they ordered online arrives. That's kind of abusing the return policy. Just share with someone else in the class.

No, that's actually a pretty good idea.

That's what I've done for the past three years.

I made the mistake my freshman year of buying all my books from the bookstore, but then I realized I could be paying 1/3rd of their price if I ordered online.

I've sometimes wondered why they don't just go to a strictly online bookstore for schools. 100% of the students have availability to the internet, either through the library, computer labs or the dorms, etc..

They could cut the costs of being a B&M and they could compete better with the likes of the other online retailers.

Heh my school's bookstore puts all the book information online (unless they havent recieved the info from the instructor). But I can just look up the info online, get the ISBN and buy the book elsewhere. :D
