I did the "co-parenting" deal with my ex for awhile and actually all it served to do was to prove over and over why we were better off divorced.Over the years what ended up happening is a looser system of each parent deciding the rules in their own home.On big issues or things that were going to involve a lot of parental involvement of time or money, the parent who was most directly effected had majority say.Of course small things like can the kids stay extra time or can we switch days to benefit the kids was generally never an issue. We did better once we abandoned following the orders to the letter and instead tried to focus on the spirit of the court order which was namely trying to make things as smooth for the kids as possible.
