I just tried to flash the bios and guess what? Flashmenu says that my bios file is bad so I download another copy and try that one but that causes the computer to black out. Reset - nothing. Clear bios battery, unplug system - now I get weird beeping on startup and a blank screen.

This board has been trouble since day 1. It doesn't overclock even 10mhz at all even though I have PC4000 ram, nice psu, etc. It could never boot from a usb drive. It's cpu temperature calibration is all wrong.

I guess I will try the award bios flashing from a floppy emergency trick tomorrow but tonight I just wanted to give you guys a warning and tell you to stay away from ABIT.
 
It's possible that you got a bad board - if you make enough of anything you will get a few bad.
Must admit that I have never seen FlashMenu say that the BIOS file was bad - the version of FlashMenu was too old or that the BIOS file wasn't for that board, yes but never that the file itself was bad ...

My KV8 Pro was great, I even regret selling it sometimes.
I could run DDR530@1T with PC3700.
