I HATE MS OUTLOOK.

45 minutes this morning archiving and synchronizing folders and it still isn't finished.

GRRRRRR

btw, does anyone know of a good alternative? scheduler, email program, contacts etc?

Synchronizing with what? How can anyone give you a recommendation if they don't know the server type you're working with...oh wait, this is ATOT so facts don't matter.

well, initially it was just a rant.

i probably will keep outlook.

and it's not connecting to an exchange server or anything. just pop email.

the message from outlook was "synchronizing folders".

POP doesn't sychronize. You mean IMAP?

nope, POP.

again, the message from Outlook is "synchronizing folders" and this came after the archiving happened.

Sounds weird. Although I haven't used a pop server in about 5 years. Are you leaving messages on the server or what? Maybe something got mixed up and it's downloading a ton of old mail. Anyways, I'd switch to IMAP if it's available to you, pop sucks.

i logged into hotmail via my browser, deleted all the new emails and voila no probs. 🙁

mb i should just not view my hotmail via my outlook.

I do like Outlook, but I can't imagine using it if it wasn't hooked to Exchange.

I use it for my POP accounts at home and it works just fine. I'd never pay bills on time if it weren't for the calendar and reminder features. 😉

Turn off "available offline" mail, this will get rid of the syncronization, unless you have a PDA.
