Apparently on top of all my other moving expenses I have to pay a guy $150 to watch (not do anything, just stand there) me move my crap in for a couple hours.

This is on top of the $1,000 "moving" deposit they require.

I want his job. It would be great to be paid about $50 an hour to just stand around.

The crazy thing is that can have as much sh!t as I want delivered by stores without going through this crap. WTF!?

I can't believe you moved in under those arrangements. At first site of those policies, I would have said "no thanks" and looked for another place, because you know that that's not where those stupid policies will stop.

I grabbed drum from Sam's Club in anticipation of the move. But, paying a guy just to watch me move my stuff just widened me up some more.:Q

Well, the view makes up for some of it.

hmm... not that nice of a view unless you're into big buildings. ;) It'd be sweet if you could see a lot of certain people... on a hot day.

very nice view..

It is a 1BR condo. The assessment alone run what rent does for a nice 2BR where I currently live.

Most of the choices in Chicago go like this:

1. View of brick wall
2. View of West Chicago
3. View of another building directly across the street.

A decent city or lake view is the best one can shoot for.

What's that cost per month? I know the condos right around there are about 2million. We used to have our boat docked around the bend.

I can see why they do it, don't want someone moving out a bunch of your stuff one day and folks ignoring it because they thought it was legit. Still, $150 is steep. I guess it keeps the moving days in/out to a minimum.

See if you can rent a ups truck for less than that. :p

The payments are enough to afford one hell of a house downstate.:p

When I was looking the prices in the area ranged from about $250K on the low end to $5M plus on the high end depending on location/view/size/age. I am definately in the lower range of that price scale.
