I hate them as well. No one needs that much road.

To top it off, most people who drive minivans are either ditzy housewives or "Ned Flanders" suburbanites who drive 10mph below the speed limit.

How 'bout you make me a list of who you don't hate 😉

Has anyone noticed a larger percentage of minivan drivers being aggressive drivers? I don't know if I'm projecting, or anything, but it seems to me that a ton of them will get right on your ass. And then there are the drive-like-an-old-lady-minivan-drivers. Other than the aggressive drivers and the slowpokes, however, I don't have a problem with them.

I noticed that as well... I think men that drive minivans are aggressive because they're driving what's not considered a very masculine vehicle, therefore they over compensate. as far as the women are concerned, doesn't matter what they drive....

The most aggressive driver on the road is the asshole in the full size pickup truck...and they typcially have some lame ass dual exhaust kit on there too.

People must like minivans because they're all over the place. It's just that now they have fancy new names like "crossover SUV" and crap like that. Kinda funny.

Those are station wagons, whether they like it or not.

I love my Mazda MPV!!! I don't need two of them but our family requires one...

Zoom Zoom Zoom!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to drive a 2000 MPV. Worst car ever.

160hp raspy 2.5L V6 in a 5000lb vehicle. Absolutely crawls.

Yep - most of them look like station wagons/minivans with higher ground clearance. Whoop-dee-doo.

The Chrysler T&C is great. Leathered up with 2 DVD screens. Great for taking the family on trips, loading the guys up for some tailgating or hauling the TV home from BestBuy. Plenty quick too.

Gas mileage is a bit low (23hwy) but allows us to take 1 vehicle instead of 2.

A better thread would have been titled "To those who like their minivan... why? Why? WHY?! WHHHYYYYYYY?!?!?!?"

Anyone who wants to create a thread with the title above has my permission to do so.

I think you have them confused with massive SUVs......

No I don't minivans are less agile on the road. They cannot turn corners are quickly.

But if you're talking about the giant Chevy Tahoes, then yes. But not all SUVs are road hogs. However, all minivans are road hogs.

And the people who drive them are suburban morons.

I think that's why he said massive SUVs. IE suburban lol

OP do you have a reason why you hate them? If you're going to ask other's for their reasons/stories you should at least divulged yours.

Me? I love em. My family love em too.

I love minivans. The best road trip mobile ever. My wife is dead-set against them, though. 🙁

But I have friends with minivans for mountain biking road trips. 🙂

they are so stupid looking like a big elk turd pile with wheels. soooooooooooooooo slow too. they do like 0-60 in about 75 minutes.

You have no idea what your talking about. The 2002 honda odyssey does 0-60 in 7.3 seconds, same as the 07. Now i know that isnt a speed demon by any means, but its pretty damn fast for a people carrier. Hell it beats everything in the honda lineup minus the s2000.

oh my god. that made me laugh harder than i have all week. it just put an image in my mind of crazy soccer moms in their mini vans ready to drag.

I love my Sienna. its awesome for long trips.

its a terrible vehicle. i want to run them off the road or throw rocks at them as i drive by.

you know its kinda sad that you let other peoples purchase cause so much anger.

while not everyone needs a van. many do. I have 2 kids and watch 2 more. i have to pick them up at school and do shopping.

also for me the van is much easyer to get in then any other vehicle (well my F150 was almost as easy).

while i do agree they are slow (well my windstar is. my dads freestare is a lot better) and ugly they are good vehicles.

I do not want a SUV but have use for the space the van gives us.

hmm my minivan makes every turn i need it to. i do not expect it to handle like my little car i drive.

for us the minivan is perfect. 2 kids and i take care of 2 others during the week. also on trips to the grandparents we need the room teh van gives us.

No I don't think you need the room, people like you "create" the need, although it's not really a need. Kids born 1990 - present are spoiled brats and their parents give in to them. Why do they need a huge mini-van with LCD TVs, bags of toys, and other crap for a roadtrip? When I was a kid, I sat in the cramped back seat of a small car, usually with just a pad and a few markers and sat quietly on long road trips. Didn't need TVs, bags of toys, 4 suitcases, and other similar crap.

For kids today it's "bring this, bring that." And the housewives of today are just like the kids, practically bring with them EVERYTHING in the house for a simple trip.

Suburbanites of today are NEUROTIC.

Edit: And you people drive WAY too slow, step on the gas. You're paranoid.

So the people that drive Escalades and any other SUV that there is never more than 2 people in it and it has 7 TV's in it is not a waste?
I bought a mini-van for us to drive the family around in. That's what they're for Dumbsh1t. I can't name 1 person that drives one because they are cool or are even pretending they are cool. There are 2 types of people that drive them. Parents and kids that inherited it when they turned 16.
I've packed so much crap in ours that the wheels were up in the wells. Makes moving stuff wen it rains a lot less messy.

Hay Iceburgslim! This minivan'll kick your car's ass! 😀

My family has always had minivans. 4 people, big dogs, and luggage require some space for cross-country moves (military family). That being said our first minivan a Ford Aerostar was always pretty slow, but the GMC Safari conversion we had was damn agile and quick too, when you put your foot into it.
