I have a P3V4X that has served me well for about a year and was wanting to upgrade to the Asus CUSL2 or Abit SE6 with 815e chipset and support for ATA100.

Which might give me better performance than my current setup. I have read that AGP 4X drops to 2X at higher BUS speeds on the CUSL2 and that the CUSL2-c is not as good as CUSL2. I intend to run the new board at 133-150Mhz. I have also considered buying a new CNR 10/100 for doing my home network setup if I can find one anywhere.

Thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks!

In terms of real world performance gains, they are not much, especially if you are using WPCREDIT and the memory interleave tweaks.

Support for ATA00 is not going to bring you anything since no drive breaks the ATA66 barrier and only one or two drives break the ATA33 barrier.

With the later BIOSes, the CUSL2 family drops AGP4x down to AGP2x at FSBs above 140MHz. This can be gotten around using WPCREDIT as well.

I think you are better off saving your money for a full upgrade down the road and keeping the P3V4X at the moment.
