two people are at fault here, in my opinion... the dick who tried to cut the truck off and clipped their cars as well as the driver of the truck. he should have been more aware of his surroundings and if he thought the guy was driving like a dick (speeding up behind the car in the lane next to him, obviously to cut him off), he should have slowed down in the off-chance of something happening exactly the way it did.

defensive driving, man. paying attention to your rear-view. it saves time and money.

The driver probably was aware of the speeding car from behind. He already closed the gap though so there's no reason for him or anyone in their sane mind to think that the car would try to pass.

One of the main reasons why I purchased an extra wide after market rear-view mirror. Can see the back and a bit of my right side(blind side).

Also I wouldn't call that a bad highway accident. There were probably no injuries.

I wouldn't recommend it, as that's kind of what the guy in the video did (probably not intentionally though) and you saw the results. Better to just let them through.

Had to pull something similar the other day. I was passing a semi in the middle lane (3 lane highway) when half way through the pass, the semi decided to cut into the middle lane. At first I thought he was just drifting a bit from the crosswind, didn't occur to me he was cutting into my lane until he was about 1/4 of the way in. Luckily when I saw him start to drift, I quickly checked my left for an escape route, otherwise it would've been quite a nasty accident.

he only flipped on his side because the OTHER car (not the dick driver) slammed into him which pushed him into the shoulder which was elevated, serving as a mini-ramp which launched the left side of the car up, hence landing and skidding on the right side.

i think if you have a heavy enough car or better yet, SUV, if you clip him, you can get him into a tailspin which would hopefully lead into a rollover.
