First, I'll give you all a tip, when you are deleting old desktop shortcuts in Win 2K, don't accidentally select the "My Documents" shortcut too. If you place this in the recycle bin by accident, it disappears and even "Restore all" does not bring it back. :| Anyone know how I can get this back? I tried dragging and dropping the "My Documents" folder from "My Computer" to the desktop, and it comes back for a little while, but if I log out or restart, it disappears again. I realise that I could simply create a shortcut to the folder, but then it doesn't show up with the same icon as normal. Anyone know how to get the standard "My Documents" icon back? Please help, I even tried Tweak UI's restore icons feature and that did nothing either.

I know this may be the long way of doing it, but why can't you just find the location of the My Docs icon, and plug it into a shortcut to My Docs?

Tools -> Folder Options
Go to View tab and click 'Show My Documents on the desktop'

hint: filename for the My Docs icon is mydocs.dll

Just put that as the icon for your self made shortcut and you are good to go. :)

As I said, this is my last resort. If I do it this way, then it just has the generic shortcut to folder icon and not the usual My Documents icon. Maybe I'll just have to make a new login for myself....
