Ingrown toenails on my big toes has plagued me for probably about ten years and just keeps coming back.

It was really getting to me this Sunday so I removed much of ingrown part on the right side of my right big toe.

I guess I didn't get all of it and it freaks out my fiancee that in an act of desperation, I dig my fingernails into the side of my big toenails and pry up the offending "claws" growing into the side of my toe to the point that I'm bleeding.

Got the last of the "claw" out and GOD IT FEELS GREAT. Clean with isopropyl and Q-tip. No pain walking or moving.

It's as if someone removed a 500lbs weight from my backpack while I was in the middle of climbing Mt. Everest.

That is all.

Go to the doctor and they will actually remove part of your nail and put a solution on the root so that part won't grow back. I was plagued with ingrown nails on both of my big toes and I had this procedure done a year or 2 ago and haven't had an ingrown since.

No Health Insurance. Need to get jarb first. I'm going blind too from too much ATOT/PC and will get it as soon as I'm covered under vision.

Incentives to get a jarb :p I'm graduating with my Bachelor's in three days so I have my fingers crossed.

Mine don't bother me. I guess they aren't ingrown enough. Good thing. My toenails are heavy as hell, and hard to cut.

Ditto here, both sides of both toes. Haven't had any problems with it since.

Here's a link on the surgery.

When I had mine done, there was a little curtain across my legs so I couldn't see what was happening. Felt 3-5 shots on a big toe, then heard a crunch. Wonderful childhood memories. ;)

Hmm I need to get to a podiatrist... My left big toe is starting to look funky and I am pretty sure the toenail will need to be removed

You have 3 options

Pry it out yourself
- free
- hurts horribly
- leaves a bloody mess

Get a doctor to cut it out
- expensive
- hurts horribly

GET A PEDICURE
- cheap (relative to doctor)
- painless

Make fun of it all you want, but nothing else can fix an ingrown nail as painlessly and cheaply
