yes i hate that too. Some items i notice only appear for a few months then disappear. Sometimes come back the following year. Many times never to be seen again. And it seems some items they never stop selling or run out of and have had them since the last ice age.

The last 2 years i noticed they carried "Tasty" Nine bean soup. but they went poof after a few months. So the next year when they appeared and over a few weeks i noticed the stock getting smaller i bought a shit ton of them, like 20 boxes over a couple of weeks. Never seen this soup again.
I do shit like that. If you are sold on an item, make note of it's item number. You can always ask them if they have it in stock, how many, if it's on order, if other warehouses have them and how many. It really helps. They can tell you if it's been cancelled, basically.

In MI the Costcos irregularly stock Ling Ling potstickers, which are a huge downfall for me when I want to do a cheap and easy dinner. I end up stocking up with bags of those damned things.
I've bought their potstickers and stashed them in the freezer. I can't justify it nowadays, too high a % of fat, I scan the ingredients lists. If something is over 30% fat, especially over 50% I usually can't justify putting it in my cart. I prefer to keep that % under 15%.

TBH, I still have some of the sauce that came with their potstickers in my fridge! It's a kind of sweet soy, probably with ginger, sealed in plastic bags. I should either toss it or use it.
