Just wanted to gripe. Does anyone else hate the recent medical programs.
I guess I should know better. Cops shouldn't watch cop-shows, and doctors shouldn't watch medical-shows. That said a Vicodin-popping asshole know-it-all, treating patients from the er to in-house, adults and neonates. I had to tell the wife to turn it off last night.
 
I ADORE hugh laurie. Have done for decades. And I ADORE the character of HOUSE. I don't know that I am a huge fan of the show though. I had to switch how I watch it.. from the focusing on the patient to focusing on the characters.

Meh, they're all just glossy glorifications of the real thing, which is what makes them so appealing to viewers who wouldn't know much on the subject.
 
I am not a doctor, nor an I a viewer. I am not offended by said show.

What really gets to me is when people talk about 'hacking the gibson'!!@!@!
 
Just to let it be known to practice medicine under the influence of narcotics is unbelievable let alone malpractice. Would you go to a doctor you knew was drunk? Vicodin is much more powerful.
 
Sometimes it's ok, but other times I can't stand it because the doctors go way out of their job descriptions. I mean for christ sake they are doctors not detectives, why the hell do they break into people's houses and cars, it's just utterly stupid. The only reason why I watched it at all is because one of two things.

1) He bags on religion, and I think thats funny, and well-deserved.

2) Its just another channel broadcasted in HD which I can watch on my pretty 50inch panasonic plasma television in 1080i.

Other than that, I hate it. Did I mention religion bashing?😛
 
The House, the House, the House is on fire.. and I'm content on letting it burn, he got on my nerves lately so I stopped watching.

Reference to an unrealistic movie about computer 'Hackerz'. Trying to draw parallel between different profession fields and how the entertainment industry likes to portray them. Medicine, law enforcement, and lawyers are facing the brunt of this.
 
i love the show but i see your point
it would be pretty annoying being able to point out all the mistakes he makes 😀

My soon-to-be wife is a Doctor...

And I can say with all honesty... noone wants to watch a show about real doctors... a bunch of overworked, overstressed, no-life having people standing around, ordering tests and guessing at diagnoses and treatments... It's just boring.

Vicodin isn't powerful at all. All the good doctors know you have to hand them out like candy.

You are a good doctor... aren't you?
 
I like it, but I know most of the medicine is wrong. The plus side is, most people can't get ahold of IV immunoglobulin to try as a cure next time they have a cold.
