About 6 months ago I bought a pair of Panasonic headphones for 30 bucks, they worked great but the left speaker went out after about 4 months. So I went and bought a new pair of the same ones because I kind of liked them. These developed the same problem after about 2 months. So I decided to buy a pair of Aiwa's for 30 bucks at Best Buy and these got messed up after 1 night! The left speaker sounds normal, but the right side is much more quiet. Yes I checked the balance levels, and another pair of headphones worked just fine. Just wanted to rant about my headphones ordeal:|

Step number one, check my sig.

Step number two, go buy some Grado SR60's. They'll cost about double what your headphones thus far have cost you, but they'll be WAY better.

Is there any way to fix these things when one channel goes out? I took apart one of the broken pairs of Panasonics and the wires seemed fine that go the speaker driver.

Could it be the headphone socket itself? Or are the headphones messed up no matter where you plug them in? I suffered the same problem with a walkman I had and it turned out that the headphone socket in the walkman itself was bad. If you think about it, you have two pieces of metal rubbing against each other all the time. Something's going to give...
