I am waiting on my dell 2005fpw to be delivered via ups. I work second shift, so I don't leave until 3:30. Lo and behold ups delivers at my apartment complex at 6 or so. Now I know that if I worked a regular day, ups would deliver in the morning, just the way it always seems to go. I even left a note asking to leave it at the office or do me favor and try to be here by 2 tomorrow. On the note he left it says will be back tomorrow after 5. SOB. Damn this sucks. I wish you could just call ups and tell them to hold it and I will just come pick it up. Sorry I just had to rant a bit.

Call UPS and in their voice automated system say AGENT.

This will bring you directly to a CSR. Just give them the package number and tell them to hold it at the depot and you will come to pick it up. The local depot will call you when it's ready to be picked up by you. :)

And all is well!

(this can only be done after at least 1 attempted delivery)

oh, did not know that. I have already missed one delivery, so if I miss tomorrow, I guess I will do that then. The only problem is that I got to looking at the slip he left, and it says he tried to deliver at 7pm. Where is that when you have a normal job!

Depends on what you consider normal...but most 8-5 people would be home around then...ESPECIALLY if they are expecting a sexy monster like the 2005FPW to come to their doorstep...dear God, I'd probably take off a few days before and after the expected delivery date! :D

You don't even have to call. The UPS tracking website gives you the option to have it delivered somewhere else. If I recall correctly, it's somewhat insecure as there's no need to prove who you are, but I can't remember if your only options are one of their depots or if they will let you redirect it to some other address.

It's even more annoying when you get home at 6 and you know that the driver always gets to your place at 5, but there is just no way for you to get there earlier.
