It aint that complicated to funnel them all into a sticky either. You know, like we do with just about everything else that causes a lot of threads to be made.

We should just make a giant sticky for computer-related stuff then too shouldn't we? Making stickies defeats the purpose of categorized forums. If you morons can't figure out that a thread is going to be of no interest to you without clicking on it then just quit at life.

Let's turn this thread into a football thread.

What's the score anyway?
What team should I cheer for?

3-0 USC on top. Been a defensive battle so far.

You should root for Michigan, mainly because they aren't USC.

Boooo... Root for USC because them winning could make the total cost go down from 48.5 to 48 even next year :)

Stickies don't defeat the purpose of categorized forums. They prevent the forums from being overrun by ten threads on the same damn topic. And lets also not forget that a lot of OP's do not title their football threads such that it would be, in any way shape or form, obvious that football is the main point. Methinks we're not the morons here.

Hmm, hates football...owns an SUV...You're not scoring any points here.

BTW-I don't hate you. I would first have to know who you are, other than someone who hates football and drives an SUV that is. I used to hate football until I moved to a city with a major football team and one that was actually good at the time. Living there in my early 20s really made me a fan. YMMV but it's a fun sport to watch and going to the games rules!!!

<--Hopes the Chargers win the SuperBowl this year!!!

Yes, this thread is now about the San Diego Chargers!!!

Yeah, i dont like football because no one i knew growing up liked it. Plus the idea that some 700lb lump of lard (whose only apparent job is to run 3 feet into the opposing lump of lard) could be considered an athlete kind of turns me off.

Creating stickied threads for the sole purpose of preventing multiple threads being posted on the same topic could defeat the purpose of categorized forums. Creating them with intent to gain a larger viewing audience does not, which is a much better reason for creating a stickied thread. Obviously what I said was a bit of an exaggeration but still, stickied threads in off-topic seem kind of stupid to me unless they've got good reason. It's OT, anything goes as far as subject matter.

That same "700lb lump of lard" is in better shape than most likely you will ever be though.

I wasnt a fan of grown men in tights wearing pads and being called things like FULL BACK and WIDE RECEIVER until I bought Madden and a HDTV ;)

I find football to be boring as well. I just hate the wait between plays. I can't stand watching it on TV because it seems so slow. I would rather watch kids play madden than watch football on TV. However, I do enjoy watching college football over the NFL; much more exciting.

Oh I'm not saying you're not, but many people are under the wrong impression that just because they're huge they're overweight and unfit. When you look at their 40 times though it's absolutely ridiculous.

Edit: On a side note, what some of them turn into AFTER their career is over might be more akin to what you most picture them to be.

On a side note I worked with a guy who played in the NFL. He even wore his superbowl ring. He was director of international sales or something like that. Very fit - probably 6'5, 270+. Huge.

Also was the nicest person I've ever met. A pleasure to work with.
