I've never experienced such anger and rage while playing a simple video game.

I loved FNR3, but i cannot stand 4. It just pisses me off to no end.

In legacy mode, training is a joke. I'm lucky if i get anything other than BUM besides open sparring.

Pushing Heavy Bag - cannot control where my guy moves. he rides up on the bag as if he were trying to have sex with it while circling around it, behind it, even UNDER it and starts hitting it backwards towards starting point.

Heavy Bag Combos - total control is absolutely broken in 4, even worse than 3. I'm lucky if my guy throws the right ARM most of the time. Most of my jabs end up as kidney shots with the wrong arm.

Double End Bag - So far the only thing challenging about this is figuring out how to get my guy to move around the bag with some speed instead of crawling around it.

In legacy mode i was going on a 8KO winning streak until i start facing some BS opponents. The AI did this in 3 as well, and apparently does it in 4 now too. After so many wins the AI will face you up against an opponent you have no chance in hell of winning against for no real reason other than to piss you off.

I cannot count on both hands already out of a dozen fights, how many times i've been knocked to the floor by a jab.. A JAB! totally skipped stunned mode, just straight to the godamn floor. And for most of the times i want to throw a counter-punch.. my game refuses to do anything. i will literally have to move the joystick FOUR times in the direction of a hook or uppercut before he finally throws one instead of standing there.

The most annoying game-breaking feature in here.. is how if i quickly throw 3 jobs then let go of the joystick.. for the next 3 seconds my guy will be throwing those jabs. So when you get all into a fight and start throwing punches left and right, and you try to block, more than likely you cannot because your guy is still throwing a previous punch. And then your ass gets knocked out.

/rant off

But holy shit.. it cannot just be me that hates this game in legacy mode, and how much worse they fucked up their 'total control' scheme from FNR3 in the process of trying to make it easier.

I too was frustrated then I went on youtube and some guy shows you how to do things really well.

double end bag. throw body uppercuts. I move best moving the stick to the UR corner if the next area is to teh right of me or to the UL corner if I need to move left.

pushing the heavy bag, you're not suppose to use the Push button. when they want to go low throw body upper cuts. when its high throw hooks hooks. its all about spacing. you don't want alligator arms but don't want to be to far either.

the bag combos can be frustrating. But start out slow. don't try to do all 5 moves at once in rapid succession. Just do bit command one at the time. you'll get into a rhythm.

Once your ratings become high enough some of the training options are ridiculously easy.

As for the CPU yes sometimes its frustrating. especially when you're fighting some poorly rated fighter and the bitch is able to block and counter unbelievably well. I think EA as a whole has a built in cheating mechanism for the game to try and make it harder on you.

I've seen in tiger woods 10. If I shoot 10 under next thing I know the CPU goes crazy good also.

yeah, pushing the heavy bag though, in training mode i can move my fighter. In legacy mode, it wont let me. he just keeps moving towards the bag automatically. I didnt mean i'm actually using the push button, i just cannot control the movement of my fighter, it wont let me. He just keeps trying to ride up on the bag, like its stuck going forward or something.

And for the heavy bag combos.. even if i do them slow.. especially the kidney shots.. the lower left, lower right shots, he never does them right. You have to move the stick almost completely straight down for a kidney shot in legacy training mode. And a lot of my jabs turn into body shots.. when i'm CLEARLY moving upper left/upper right and not straight to the sides.. its just extremely frustrating. It doesnt do this during an actual fight, just during the training.

Thanks for the tips though, i'll try those out.
