I hate federal airline regulations regarding liquids

I'm forced to check a bag with my toiletries everytime I fly now becuase regulations forbid any liquid containers > 3.4oz in carryon. I have yet to find my cologne or hair gel in travel size containers, and the small containers of contact solution and toothpaste are rip offs.

I know this regulation has been in effect for quite a while now, but I've been flying more frequently recently and it's getting quite irritating.

That is all

This is timely, I was just telling a coworker how much of a pain in the ass it is to fly with contact solution or shampoo.. I'm not even going to bother with anything when I fly tomorrow because last time it all just got thrown away.

this rule sucks.

buy the small ones one time and keep refilling the small ones with the full size one that you keep at home.

Just remember not to wear thigh high boots when going to the airport.

People probably would have less issues with these stupid rules if they airlines could stop missplacing the luggage.

It's all one sh1t-fvcking-ton of bullsh1t.

There is no cure for a vigilant population.. and a vigilant population is the absolute largest deterrent against terrorism.. Yet, the government still tries to play us like fools and make us believe they can handle everything.

What's the last thing the government handled well?

Getting on a plane should be no different than getting on a bus. If a person wants to hijack a plane, he or she should have to deal with the random people that decided to conceal carry that day.

The worst thing about it is the fact that the liquid bomb plot probably would never have worked. I read an article on what it would have taken to make the bomb & it is so complicated and requires so many steps that it is really far fetched that it would not be noticed.

1. What cologne are you not able to find in a container smaller than 3.4 oz?
2. If you're going on a trip that's short enough that you check luggage... leave the hair gel. Or buy a bottle when you get there to save yourself some time. You're not impressing anyone with your hair anyway. 😉

oh oops the cologne is fine 🙂 but the facewash isn't. Both the gel and facewash are necessary for me to stay well groomed. I have an interview so my appearance does matter.

Our administration will take EVERY available opportunity to sensationalize terrorism and the threat it poses. Orange alerts, captured #2's, foiled terrorist plots...etc. etc.

How embarrassing is our society that we stoop to every demand our government places on us, as asinine as they are?

Here's an idea. Cut a few billion from KBRs Iraqi contracts. Offer it as a prize to the first company that improves on current explosives detection in airports. Then we don't have to feel like criminals every time we decide to carry a bottle of lotion or hand sanitizer on board our flight.

i use gel sometimes, so i have to say this is BS because you should be able to go without it easily. and face wash? i understand some people have sensitive skin, but cant you just suck it up one day and not use it or use something else? that sentence made you sound like the biggest wank.

lastly, the rule changes frequently about the size of the container. when i left to go to denver a few weeks ago it was 3.4, but on the way home it was 3.2. i had 2 bottles that were 3.4 and i had to throw them both away.

The rules haven't changed in awhile. The problem is that the TSA at each airport enforces their own version of the rules.

I looked for 3 ounce bottles of contact lens solutions at CVS, but the smallest size was 4 ounces. That was a PITA, everything else wasn't too bad.

Many of my friends fly out on Monday morning and return on Thur/Fri. These restrictions are a real PITA for them.

I nominate this for the dumbest post of the year

I've brought 12oz bottles of contact lens solution on a carryon the last time I flew (1.5 months ago). It is an exempt medical supply, so just take it out of the bag with the zip-lock toiletries bag and let it go through the x-ray machine.

The rules shouldn't just bar large cologne bottles, they really need to ban people to just wear waaay too much cologne, like enough to stun a yak.

having a large bottle doesn't necessarily mean that the person wears more of it on a daily basis. It's usually more economical to buy the larger bottles.

But that aside, i agree
