Minor rant - But I hate people with no common courtesy. (and on my cell phone no less, eating minutes)

"Ring"!!!
ME: Drop everything, "Hello?"

HER: "Dad?"

ME: "No, you must have a wrong number"

Her: "Click"

Now I realize her way saves a milli-second of time for both parties, but would a "sorry" be too much to ask?
Worst part is the wife'll probably see the phone bill and ask what the weird number is, or worse, call it and hear a cute female voice!!!

sh!t happens. Do you have caller ID? If you do then why on Earth would you pick up if you don't recognize the phone number. I just let it go to my voice mail and by that time the caller realizes they have the wrong number.

what I hate is when you make a wrong number call and realize before anyone picks up, then they call you back and get all pissy demanding to know who you are.

Don't get me started on my wife! I usually answer calls from the local area codes as sometimes my wife/son use friend's phones that I don't recognize.

Deeko - I wasn't going ballistic, just annoyed at the lack of courtesy. She was definitely "of age" to know better, probably 20-ish based on the voice.

Then I hate people when they dialed wrong and start quizzing YOU about what number it is! I always ask "what number did you dial"? I'm not giving out my number to every dimwit.

This is why I have caller ID. If I don't recognize the number, I don't answer.

If it's important enough they'll leave a message.

There's your problem. It's not anyone else's fault that you place phone calls as the highest priority in your life.

Actually the phone's not a priority, I just have a REALLY annoying ring on my cell, so I have to answer it to shut it up (and I'm too lazy to change it. actually I just like pissing off my lunch buddies with it)

Anonymous girl called me before, said "I'm trying to get in contact with Jared, was he using your phone?" I said "Nope. No Jared here, must be a wrong number." She replied, "Oh, sorry. Bye." *click*

Since I've received calls from that number before, I'm guessing it might have to do with a job or something. Especially because the tone of her voice.

I don't get the caller id arguement.
I mean if you're going to go through the effort of getting the phone to read it, you may as well answer the damn thing so you don't have to listen to it ringing, then check the answering machine.
