x800gto for sure it overclocks like crazy, it based off the same core as its pci-e counterpart, not one that unlocks but the others, which almost everyone reportedly have had crazy oc's.
http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/digest3d/index0511.html -The x800gto beats the 6800gt almost in everygame except opengl with AA+AF included. It handles AA and AF very well.
http://www.tech-mods.net/modules.php?na...ws&file=viewreview&op=newreview&id=158 -another review, this card is a hell of a bang for 140 bucks!

X800GTO. It's well worth the extra 15 bucks.

The more expensive X1600XT will get 1 more fps in Oblivion, FEAR and 3dmark, but will be slower everywhere else. Lack of SM3.0 is a non-issue on a budget card.

Can't you unlock pipes on the 6800xt? well...maybe not on pci-e...

I know it has shader model 3, but it's really just slightly better than the 6600gt....

So, take an OCed 6600gt, and then that's what you'll get...last time I checked at least. I dont know how the x800gto compares to either of them off the top of my head.

the 6800XT sounds like garbage - low clockspeed and only 8 pipelines. X800GTO is probably a decent choice, although I like some of the recommendations of the X1600 and 7600GS cards, since those support SM3.0 and cool antialiasing options (adapive AA for ATI and transparency AA for nvidia).
