the subject describes nature when you get into PDE... it's quite important as it is quite fundamental.

I can understand the significance of PDE but I don't believe I'll ever use it again. PDE seems to be more helpful in Physics and Engineering. I'm a pure math major so PDE is just another branch of math I'm supposed to get familiar with. I don't like it and once I'm done, I'm forgetting everything! you can stop me!

Heh, I don't think I ever imagined a math major every say that. You can't get away from using PDEs in physics and engineering. Depending on what kind of math you do later on, your career might be filled with 'em.![]()
