Argh...here's my rant:
I had to return some books to my public library, so I went there, put the books in the bookdrop, left the library and went onto rt9 (a 3 lane highway with some stores on the side). I'm in the right lane doing 55mph (speed limit is 55), and there are some cars stopped on the side of the road. About three car distances away one guy swerves onto the highway...i hit the brakes, swerve left and then right again (theres always speeding trucks in the left two lanes, and in that split second I was unsure of whether or not a truck was speeding by, hence the reason I swerve right again). The car comes to a stop, and the kids who were in the car that swerved onto the highway look at me as if i'm some sort of alien while continuing past my car. I noticed his rearview mirror on the left is smashed (probably the reason he couldn't see if someone was coming), but he started speeding away. I then followed him up the highway a bit so I could get his license plate memorized, and then I stop by the side of the road to see if there's any damage to my car. Of course, of all the days to leave my cellphone at home I do it today...so I drove on home and here I am.
My question is...should I report this? Would the police even care (now that i've already left the scene and there's no visible damage)? The reason I ask is the last time someone hit me from behind while I was waiting at a red light, the cops came and saw no visible damage...so they didn't write the other guy up.
