Since I just barely got into a new position with the company I work for, I spent a good hour and a half today in a training meeting. I'm learning a brand new system and am working with brand new people. The meeting had four people involved -- the teacher who had some notable clout in the company, as well as three students, myself being one of them.
As the class presentation began, I realized one of the other students was a total suckup to this teacher. I mean, he agreed with EVERYTHING the teacher said, kept on saying things such as "of course that's the answer," "yes," "that's right!", and basically brown-nosed in the worst way possible. He reiterated the obvious, but in his own "business lingo" just to make himself look smart.
I asked a few questions, nodded my head a couple of times, but basically kept quiet so that the teacher could get on with her presentation. But this fellow student, whom I believe I'm going to be working with for the next couple of years, would NOT shut up. Every time he opened his mouth, I couldn't help but
Sure, it's the first day, but still...
I just hate suckups that try to make themselves look good but deep down inside are just a bunch of insecure yahoos. The problem is they are the ones that seem to go places in companies. :disgust:
