i bought that k6-3+ 450mhz from tiger mentioned in that hot deals forum. turns out my motherboard doesn't support it (even though it does say it supports k6-3). i go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and they don't even have bios updates! grrrrrr...must...kill...someone...

my father actually bought 3 systems from them for his business. he was looking for the cheapest he could find, and they fit the bill. those systems were nothing but headaches

I have a K6-3+ 450, and an FIC VA-503+. I used to have K6-2/350 (@450) on that board, and I fried the board somehow trying to get the K6-3+ to work. Now I'm stuck with nothing but a P83 (which is in my mom's room on top of that).

Oh well.
