I hate CompUSA! *RANT*

Okay... so I bought one of their Maxtor rebadged drives. After linking it up to my sister's computer to back up some files, I proceed to have a problem after reinstalling the OS on her computer. The hard drive isn't being detected in her computer or mine. Just great... I fried my hard drive. I call CompUSA to get nothing but garbage for a menu and I can't make it in there before they close. Damn them for not having people answer their phones! :|

Hm... called compUSA three times this week and got a CSR in under 5 minutes each time. I think there were like a maximum of 2 buttons to press.

And your rant is SUPER weak. Go load up on some more piss and vinegar and come back. Go look up a couple of shinerburke's rants for a good example.

I think you'd be mad too if you were using a 233 MMX and lost a hard drive that was worth more than the whole computer.

I give the rant a 6. It seeds more dirty words and it definately needs some incomplete sentences because you gotta be SOOOO angry your fingers can't find the right keys cause CompUSA fvcking SUCKS and THE PHONE SYSTEM IS CRAP I HATE COMPUSA AND ALL OF THEIR EMPLOYEES THEY DONT GIVE YOU

ARRRRGHHHH

Lets see, I call up Antec about a dead powersupply. Guy says they can cross-ship if I give them my Credit Card number, otherwise I'll have to wait for them to recieve the drive. I figured what the hell since I'm not scamming anyone. Want to know the kicker? They supposedly shipped it on Monday and I haven't gotten anything. However, I shipped the Power Supply out on Tuesday and they recieved it yesterday...

I went to CUSA for something on a Monday morning. Myself incluede there were 3 customers in the store. I asked for help at the customer service desk. 3 overhead pages and 10 minutes later no one showed up. I just left. Sad how they were overwhelmed with 3 customers.

I still can't believe that this person expected someone to answer the phone at a CompUSA, or what he was trying to accomplish by getting them on the phone in the first place.

why didn't you just head over there to begin with?

Really. What were you calling about?

I would have headed up there, but I wouldn't have made it there in the 12 minutes I had left after my hard drive went south. I tried calling to see if there was any way they could test it or what they could do for me.

That clarifies it a bit.

Now, with that being said, if there is a problem with the new drive that you bought today, just return it to them and get a new one.

NEVER SPEND YOUR MONEY THERE!!

I HATE THEM TOO!

This is a better rant than the original poster!

it is very hard to fry a hard drive.

Even if u fried it, WTF u call them if u already fried it ?

move your ass, bring the drive back to the store. Simple as that.

Stop your stupid rant.

I've got my own mini-rant:

The fan on my GF4 crapped out and DSUB with my LCD makes my eyes bleed, so I sucked it up and went to the local hardware store to just buy a new fan. The only fan they couldn't reach the power connector on the card with its dinky wires. I went to CompUSA and went to the Computer Repair desk thing (because it was directly infront of the enterance and I'm a lazy bastard.) Some middle aged guy with a pony tail insisted that they didn't have any HSFs for video cards, but he said I could use a chipset fan. wtf. I wandered back where these chipset fans were and found a section of video card HSFs, and picked up a nice Thermaltake GF4 solid copper HS/fan/RAM sinks. It was like $10. I actually walked back to the same guy to show the guy and he gave me one of those half-assed I-won't-admit-I-was-wrong-so-I'll-make-up-some-obviously-bullshit-excuse lines. I just paid and left in disgust.

I feel sorry for the poor guy that follows that "trained expert"'s advice and sticks a 40mm fan on his latest/greatest $400 video card.
