I hate Comcast Digital Cable

OK, rant thread,

A little background. Last NBA season (about a year ago) I call Comcast Digital Cable to order NBA League Pass. They say it's available in my area, and I order it. I try to tune to the games, only to find out I can't. I call Comcast and speak to a tech support person who tells me that it turns out it's not actually available in my area. So they cancel it for me. Well, two months later, I get billed for the damn thing anyway.

Flash to today I once again call Comcast to order the NBA League Pass, they say, OK it's available and we can set this up for you. I make sure that it's available, because of the crap I went through last year, and they say it is available. Great, I say, set it up then! So I get home, eager to see my NBA games, and find out I can't tune to any of the NBA channels. I once again call Comcast to complain, get transferred to three different departments, only to find out once again that NBA league pass is not available in my area.

Why in the hell can't their departments coordinate anything? How is it that the order center can't seem to get it straight what channels I can get, but the support center can?

Also, why are certain channels available in certain areas, but not in others? It makes no sense that they wouldn't carry NBA League Pass in this area. Damn I wish I could get a dish. Too bad I can't have them in my apartment complex.

I don't think it's that. Turns out, apparently our digital cable system doesn't support it I guess? Who knows. They say they are in process of upgrading all of San Jose to the new system, and it should be ready by the end of this year, and NBA league pass will be available then. Still stupid that their departments can;t coordinate which channels are available when ordering services.

Hopefully by then though, I'll be moved to my new apartment with my GF, and have DirecTV instead of cable.

If it's not available, it's not available, and there's not much you can do about that until they upgrade their end (unless a satellite provider offers a similar package). However, they really do need to get their act together, because this sounds unprofessional as all hell.

i agree - it's absolutely terrible, and that's coming from someone who only tried it out for about 30 minutes. the menu navigation is horrible - you can only see 30 minutes of programming at a time because comcast decides to fill half the screen with fvcking advertisements. same goes for random channel surfing. time warner cable has a great navigation/menu interface - bottom 2/3 of the screen show the programming for the next 1.5 hours. the top 1/3 is split into a picture-in-menu so you can see the current channel, and a small window showing info on the channel you've hilighted in the menu interface. COMCAST IS THE DEVIL.
