Seriously, the common cold has got to be nature's cruel joke on humanity or something. "Here, let's make you feel just crappy enough to be miserable, but not crappy enough to feel like you have to forego trying to be productive today. Oh, and there's not a god damn thing you can do about it either!"

Yeah, but you know what's worse? When you eat/drink something too hot and it burns the tip of your tongue - then a sore develops and it hurts like hell whenever you eat and drink. And it lasts for a week or more.

I have that now.

Anyway burning the tip of the tongue is something I hate too, it's one of the reasons I never drink hot beverages. I just can't be bothered to wait. After that I can't feel the taste on the tongue for a few days, hate that. It was never painful though.
