Wow, that's a steaming pile of crap. What a bunch of BS. I don't use text messaging, but now I'm thinking about switching providers. That being said, I doubt that there are ANY providers who don't play dirty.

I just don't get why anyone would subscribe to a non-Verizon mobile service.

Verizon doesn't have much selection for nice fones....

Verizon did have the E815, which IMHO (and many others) may be the best phone ever made.

I have a Verizon Q now and I love it.

I am a customer of Cingular for years, way back when they were ATT wireless. So far, I don't have any complaints. I am paying about $40 for 950 anytime minutes, 5000 night and weekend minutes, free 100 text messages, and a bunch of other stuffs. I like the carryover minutes for 1 year before it expires.

Guess it depends of the location. I thought about go to Verizon but for the same bill of $40, I will get less minutes and features.

Cingular/Tmobile lets you get unlocked phones from Europe which IMHO > Verizons/US phones.

I just really don't see the benefit of having an unlocked super phone and getting crappier service for it.

I have a laptop, an iPod, and portable video game machines.

Cingular = Bellsouth = AT&T

welcome to the end 😀

I have TMO and the service is night and day, however, coverage area is another thing...

I love Verizon service and customer support. I hate their crippled phones. Ugh, I hate cell carriers.
Cingular is the flip, better phones, horrible service.

It's crappy in your opinion. I haven't had any problems, and I get to keep the minutes I don't use each month....does Verizon do that?

You can leave the contract free of charge if you're not happy with it. (I think up until a month after they increase the txt fee).

i think that was only sprint.

It's not just my opinion. Like I said, Consumer Reports rated them highest again.

I'll most likely be making the switch to Cingular from TMobile as early as this morning because of coverage. I've had TMobile for 2 years now with no complaints, but the wife is tired of not getting a signal in the hills of eastern KY where our families live. We moved to the "big" city, so our coverage at home is fine. Cingular basically has the lock on coverage anywhere east of here in the state.

Why is text messaging even on phones? Seriously... it's a PHONE! Designed to SPEAK with someone! If you want text messages, sit down to a PC and fire up Trillian for god's sake.
