I just got road runner hooked up thru my cable company, but I must say that their service sucks @ss. First off, they were late, and they were rushing thru everything. They Drilled 4 holes on my walls without caring what we have to say, and he had the nerver to say that he's doing too much, hinting for me to give him tips!! At that time, I just gave in and gave 10 bucks, and his attitude changed immediately. Bastard!! He even had the nerve to step on my bed with his work boots to fix the wires on the walls!! I wish I sue his focking @ss. Before he left, he even wanted to keep my screw driver!! Screw him!!

WTF??!! LOL!!!

Man. My cable guy was cool. He got me cable TV into my room for free. My roommate pays for cable but it's only in her room. And I tipped him $5. He also gave me a bunch of splitters in case I wanted to do some more, like take the cable to the other rooms. Hahahha. It was great. So now I can watch TV shows and surf on my PC at the same time. This rocks!

Sorry you had such a bad experience with RoadRunner. I heard comcast sucks a$$ too.

I don't think that I have ever heard a good comment from RR service. My cox guy kicked ass, was real laid back, and got everything done perfect. I gave him a beer while he was here and we sat on the couch and watched tv waiting for the network to sync up.

my roadrunner is great but I didn't get to meet the cable guy. The man on the phone that hooked me up with the cable guy was cool though.

why didn't you just do the installation yourself ??

you could have done it in under 30 min.. that's how I did mine.. it was a piece of cake..

I didn't have to tip or anything

I ordered over the phone.... drove down to my cable company picked up modem.. and voila .. I'm on cable getting average of 250kb/s down~

I had to install cable too, so i couldn't do it myself, or can I?

It's good to hear that there are better cable guys out there helping us out, but to the guy who came into my house- FSCK YOU!

I even offered him a can of coke, cuz it was so hot that day, and when he left he took another for the truck. Bastard... Wish i hadn't tipped him...

For a cable modem, I don't think its dumb to get a professional install. To be honest, most people couldn't make a good weather tight connection on coax all that easily, and you really want a good signal when its carrying your data.

Only reason my Cable guy came over was to setup the line... everything else I did myself. He was cool, and even gave me two freebie NICS. When another guy came over because my modem died, he set me up with another NIC. They aren't great NICS though but saved me some money when I started my new network until I could afford some better stuff.
