And am at the point where Unisom no longer works for me.

Thinking maybe I should stay up and not even try going back to bed until 8 tonight.

Me too but I have to be a work in 5 hours.

I've always been more or less like that though I guess.

The first thing you need to do is stop looking at a computer/phone screen

Do you consume a lot of caffeinated beverage close to bedtime? Try stopping your caffeine intake much earlier.

I actually prefer it, in my line of work that is when all the fun happens, between 12midnight and 6am. and much. less. management.

been graveyard since '97

I suffer from terrible insomnia. I've been up for 3 days now. I didn't want to do it but I'm going to have to start taking Lunesta or Ambian to knock me out cold.

Holy hell DON'T DO IT!

First off it won't work after a short time. And It totally screws up your brain. I had horrible side affects. It erased my brain like a harddrive getting erased. It was the scariest thing in my life. Like literally the parts of my brain that makes me who I am were getting wiped out. And I couldn't even remember who I was or how I got places. It almost got to the point where it was like I was just born yesterday with no past. That stuff is the devil. I'd rather die from insomnia than go back on that stuff.

I did have this problem, Now I get up every day at 6 am, eat big breakfast, lunch at 11 am, small dinner at 4 PM, Yoga and or meditation ~ 8 PM. Bedtime is 10 PM --- the key for me is keeping a routine.

Lucky you. I've had the electric fence off for most of a year now. The puppy (all 120 pounds of him) hadn't learned yet. He went over last night and was on our porch at 2:30am. So, I grabbed an extension cord (the outlet is dead; remodeling) and plugged in the fence charger. Clicking, but not blinking - that means there's a short somewhere. So, in my bath robe, with sleet and wind pounding me, I walked the fence line looking for where a branch or something was done against it. Found one, returned to the house, but there must be another spot. By 4am, I decided to forget it for the night, and went back to bed.

I assume all you people with sleep problems have already cut out caffeine & other stimulants, get up at a consistent time every day and don't nap? Consistent and healthy eating schedule helps too.
