I hate being sick

I'm pretty sure I'm in the initial stages of something this morning. Unfortunately I work too damn early to get medicine on my way to work, I'm hoping I can make it until my lunch break to make a run for the Contac severe cold & flu.

I feel like ass.

:disgust:

Maybe my story will make you grateful you don't have it as bad as I. I had my gall bladder removed 8/15. I had an unexpected pain for 2 weeks (missed work), and was admittted to the ER on 8/29. They found out I had a bile leak that needed to be corrected. So I was in the hospital for a week with, at one time, 3 drains sticking out of my right side. After 2 catheter procedures (one into my ribs and one into my liver on the right side) that were VERY painful, they finally drained the bile. I then had a tube stuck down my throat (while unconscious, thank God!) and they put a stent in my bile duct to bypass the leak. On a final CAT scan before being discharged, they determined they had punctured my lung and I had a partially collapsed lung with air and blood outside the lung that had to be drained out (called pneumothorax and hemothorax). So I had a chest tube inserted under my right armpit, and had to have another tube sticking out of my chest for 2 days.

I was finally discharged, and went back to work for 2 days. Then I had a high fever that wouldn't drop, so my doctor readmitted me to the hospital, to find I had pneumonia (probably a result from the punctured lung). So I spent another week in the hospital on IVs. I was released last Thursday, but am still home from work on antibiotics. So I've been sick since 8/15. I hope I'm recovering, because I can't take much more of this. So when you're upset about being sick, think about how much worse it could be and count your blessings.

Yep, I'm at work sick with a headache/fever/sore throat/runny nose...whats good to take besides nyquil and dayquil? I need to make a lunch time medicine run too! 🙂

I use Contac Severe Cold & Flu. There's a Maximum Strength and a Non-Drowsy version, both work quite well & neither makes me drowsy.

If I take those every 3.5 hours I can make it through work just fine.

I normally keep them on hand for me & people around me, but I'm out.

I hate it when my kids are sick.

My oldest is missing her first day of school today. 🙁

Sore throat, hoarse, sinuses, ear ache. Wish I was home w/her. 🙁

Good grief that's horrible!
