so I'm a government worker and have been wanting to switch agencies. I found an opening that matched me perfectly, so I applied for it.

The online application process took well over an hour. I was slightly annoyed at this, but figured it would be worth it because I was pretty optimistic that it would yield some positive results for me.

Today I received an email of my results - I am ineligible because 1)i'm not a US citizen, 2)I am too old, and 3)never faxed transcripts. This would be fine except I AM a US citizen and I'm only 24, both of which was stated on my resume. I also called them after faxing my transcripts to confirm they received them :|

sorry I'm done, just needed to vent a little.

Sounds about right. I applied for a library page position and was required to do a five page application and then do a full 2 hour test (county level). I said screw it, not worth $8/hour for 5-10 hours/week.

how long ago did you get the job? I had the same experience when I first became a government employee. Now, everything is done through USAJobs and it sucks horribly. Sadly, the bureaucracy has even made its way to the hiring process LOL.

yeah here in NYC it's a nightmare to get anything done from the govt... from the social security office to the DMV... lines line and more lines and then a bunch of forms stamped by people with attitude. inefficiency at its finest.
