if the person does not deserve the apology, why give it? Seems kinda pointless. I never did.

I always have to make false appologies to my girlfriend. It's part of life and such things must be done to provide for cohesive relationships. Not that big of a deal to me.

if it is a nef, then all of off topic is nef's. what does post count matter anyway? i wouldnt care if the mods set my post count to negaitve 5000! or 0 again for that matter!
 
has anyone ever experienced one of those "movie" style apologies? Where you get in a big fight, and you want it to end, so you go up to like your sisters room or whatever and you're like hey, i'm really sorry blah blah blah happened etc.

i've done it a couple times and it never felt right

circumstances make it so that if i dont give the apology, i dont get eagle rank in Boy Scouts...

it's interesting, because boyscouts is an orginization that values honesty, integrity, courage, and bravery. me, the spineles wonder embodies none of that now. and i have to embodie none of what is valued in order to reach the top rank. Damn i hate dilemmas.

So, basically you're selling yourself out for an Eagle rank? I was never in Boy Scouts, but I expect having a high rank like that involves displaying digninty and honor, right? if you are not at fault, meaning no apology from you is necessary whatsoever, then I say don't do it (like it's my choice 😛) I mean, you know who you are and that you were right, and that's more important than what anybody else says about you.

LOL! Actually, this is a fascinating sociological topic. Women tend to say I'm sorry all the time... they are more socially conditioned to do so. It is a status thing... the lower on the totem pole you are (or think you are), the more you put your tail between your legs and beg for mercy. Even when you haven't done a damn thing wrong. Perhaps you guys know this and so saying "Sorry" makes you feel like a wuss.

Anyway, I've learned to ONLY apologize for stuff I should apologize for. And then I use the WORD 'apology'. As in, "I owe you an apology". It feels much better--- powerful even--- to seek atonement that way. Don't ever apologize if you don't mean it. Just agree to disagree and let it go.
