I hate 7-11

My buddy and I went into the local 7-11 today and they had a deal where I could buy two 591mL bottles of Pepsi for $2.22 (CAD). Anyways, I grab my bottle and head to the front to I could pay for it. Turns out, that the deal ended yesterday, but they had the sign up.

As such, I am still entitled to the advertised price since it was clearly their fault for not taking the sign down in time. She tells me that Coke is on for the same special now, but not Pepsi.

Seeing as how I hate Coke, I told her I didn't want Coke. The advertisement was up for Pepsi when I came in so I am entitled to it for the price displayed.

Anyways, the lady at the register goes into the back room and calls a colleague (sp?) and he goes over to the sign and takes it down and trashes it.

At this point, there is no sign but I'm still entitled to the deal since the sign was up when I came in and got my Pepsi so I asked her to give me the deal. At this point, she refused and says 'What sign? There was no sign.'

WTF b!tch? Her colleague trashes the sign and then comes over saying there was no sign. Then, a THIRD guy comes by and saying there was no sign either. My friend and I were just sitting there appalled at their audacity (sp?).

To piss me off even more, the woman starts losing her temper and speaks to me in an extremely disrespectful manner even though I was being as polite as I could.

Clearly, the cameras caught the man taking down the sign so I'm going to talk to the manager tomorrow and get my deal. If not I'm calling their 1-800 number and making a complaint there. If that doesn't work, I'm contacting the BBB.

It's a matter of principle. Don't lie to me and then call me a liar.

Edit: Typo.

I don't understand people like that. Great, you've just screwed a guy out of a few cents. Whooptydoo.

They deserve to get fired, go homeless, and then die, wretched, in the rain. A fire is too good for them.

yeap. had Target try the same crap.

got up to the register and it came up wrong. while talking to them i seen a manager talking to someone and point back there. so i went back (wife stayed up front) and watched the guy stick the sign in his shirt. The manager then said he didnt see the sign and asked me to go back and show him. i just siad sure have that guy pull it out of his shirt. because we both know its not there now.

After complaining and threatning to call the regional manager they gave it to me.

Let it go.

No. The fact that they took down the sign in my presence and then had the audacity to tell me there was no sign (implying that I was lying when clearly I was not) is why I won't let it go.

A bit harsh, but definitely disciplinary action of some sort.

Beggers have no room for this kind of disrespect.

At least they have a job. Are you implying that they are second class citizens because they make minimum wage?

Don't the signs usually have small text saying when the deal ends?

Perhaps. If they had simply shown it to me, it would have been the end of the matter.

Sort of... they have display dates at the bottom, but that's for the store to know when to take the sign down and it doesn't state that the deal ends then... they get new signs every month regardless of whether a deal ends or not.

Regardless of whether the law requires them to sell it at the price that they're clearly advertising, the OP has a legitimate complaint and 7-Eleven will not ignore him.

u expect good price at 7/11? twit. its there for 24/7 convenience. better prices at the supermarket.

You lack basic reading comprehension. The line in the OP that says, 'It's a matter of principle. Don't lie to me and then call me a liar' suggests that cost wasn't the real issue here.

Yeah, if they weren't so stupid, they could have shown you the sign, which would have said "ends such & such date"

Pretty audicious of them though, indeed 😀

This situation would best be handled with about six eggs, unless it snows tonight, then just snowball the hell out of them when they get off work.
Unless you want to be admitted in that big red Corporate Enemies book.
