Question I hate 4k for games. It just makes stuff smaller and not proper for competitive gaming.

Facts are I hate 4k on games. It just makes the characters smaller and does not feel good, and compettive gaming a 4k is a no no. So I am with 2k resolution. If I use the 2560x1440 which video card would fly on a Geforce "model I do not know, that is why I ask you gurus here.

If you gave me a 5800 GEforce with ton of VRAM, I would still play at 2k.

So now my question is, what is a video card that will scream FPS with my choosen or resolution I play at. I want to get into War games and I choose Call of Duty. I want 100FPS rarely and jump to near 200fps and average 150FPS. Thanks all for your brains. Love you all! ❤️

Have you tried Windows Display Scaling? It should fix this issue with small text in a lot games.

Also a Geforce 5800 is ancient. What are you playing, Call of Duty 1 from 2003?

I have not made a jump to 4k myself. I think I would need a bigger monitor to really enjoy it. If there was something like 38" ideally.

In most of the recent games, properly written, you will find an option for UI scaling, which should help in most cases. On windows desktop, just pick a very large font. It used to be flakey early on but works fine these days in most cases.

This statement doesn't make much sense without context. What size is your monitor/TV and at what distance is it from your eyes?

If you have an issue with characters looking small, then it might be because you're far away from the monitor. For that case, many FPS games have a FoV range slider that will make characters look bigger if you decrease it. Render resolution (or "presentation resolution" in the day and age of upscalers) have been decoupled from FoV for a while, as more people use PCs connected to their TVs.

I may go that route too, at some point.
I mean don't get me wrong, it looks incredible and if you have a expensive video card which you bought buy selling a body part, Im here to say. 4k is for Windows Desktop and 2k is for gaming. Plus difference is not noticeable once you crank up all the video card settings in nvidia panel or AMD panel and everything maxed out and maxed out in game as well. Also upscaling is crucial and does not give you lower frame rates. At least not for Quake Champions and COD.

Oh, and the obvious, do not forget the performance hit. It will run almost 3x slower no matter what video card you have. I should say 2x actually, that sounds more realistic with todays FPS games.
