Well these are the ones i can think of off the top of my head. I have been reading these newspaper comics since I was 12. I thought I was going to find them funny when I am 10-15 years older. But I still never laugh at them.

BC
Oooooh really intelligent.

Beetle Bailey
Must be a military thing.

Heathcliff

Luann
Is Luann still in high school?

Hi & Lois

Oh I get it, I don't have a dog or play golf so I wont find it funny.

And Family Circus doesn't need a link.

I never understood who would actually find family circus amusing other than 5 year olds. Foxtrot and Far Side for life

Yeah, the comics are a complete waste, especially the ones you listed. Family Circus and Doonesbury are the absolute worst though...

Bleh.

All those are terrible comics, but FC deserves a SPECIAL place in comic hell.

The one with the chick, sally or something that always had a freakin book for dialog.

I still get these stuipid USPS postcards with her on it about going to the post office or something, its about as funny as the comic ever was.

And it isn't funny.

Second for doonsbury.

For me, most of the comics aren't that funny either. However, I really enjoyed them growing up and I think that's why I still read them. It's more like a fond memory type of thing.

BC can be really funny sometimes, Get Fuzzy can be funny or really lame, you never know which you'll get. Pearls Before Swine is good. Peanuts is great, I don't know if I ever laughed at loud at it, but I don't think that's the point.
I agree most comics suck, and even the ones I like it seems aren't that great most of the time any more.

I use to like Andy Capp, is it still a comic? I see his Cheddar Fries for sale at the local gas station but never see the comic strip :( BTW his Hot Fries PWN!

Pearls Before Swine - Angry Bob is always good, as are Rat's novels and children's books. :D

But yes, at least half of the comics just aren't any good. Too many are just rehashes of the same few tired themes (Oh that Dagwood, always making those big sandwiches), or too watered down so that they're G or PG-rated, or for political correctness. How long until Garfield is no longer "fat," but instead "obese" or "differently-weighted?"

oh, and Bloom County was good back in the day.
The latest incarnation of Bloom County is simply "Opus."

Garfield was funny at one time... ran out of funny material after a year or two. How many times is it funny when a cat eats lasagna?

Calvin & Hobbes and Far Side were two of the best comics ever. Both writers quit before their comics got old and stale.

Dilbert is probably about the 3rd best of all time, but it seems to slowly be running out of funny material; still a few good laughs here and there.

Bloom County/Opus:

The only ones that I read and enjoy here now are Pearls Before Swine, LIO, Non Sequitur, Get Fuzzy, and The Piranha Club.

I want Baldo to STOP.

Family Circus - someday, I hope to understand how someone made money with that PoS. I also hope to understand why someone would pay money for that PoS.

I like Wizard of ID.

My favs.
Get Fuzzy
Calvin and Hobbes
Far Side
Foxtrot
Dilbert
Wizard of Id
Shoe
Pearls before Swine

can stand it:
BC-meh
Hagar the Horrible-how many times can they run away from arrows? The battle ax of a wife thing going is funny.

cannot stand:
Family Circus
Marvin-first thought it was funny, but now old and tired
Garfield-He peaked during the brief but brilliant saturday morning cartoons. US Acres was hilarious. After that, crap.
Willy and Ethel. - Not funny.
For Better or Worse - Are all Canadians this boring?
