One of my labs had to be put down a few years ago. I was really crushed. I know what your feeling right now and im genuinely sorry. Just remember all the good time you had and that hes in a better place now.

I feel for you, we had to have our dog put to sleep in the middle of July. Had been with us 13 years.

Well I had a cat that died so I can sort of relate.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you invest in another dog. Remember they get put down everyday is they are not claimed :(

Threads and thoughts like this make me feel I shouldn't get a dog in the first place. ~15 years is just not long enough...

Sorry to hear that. :brokenheart:

I've not had to have any put down yet, but have had two that died in their sleep, both at about the age of 14. It is sad to loose a good pet and friendly companion. :(

Thanks.
We had to put him down because of a tumor pressing on his stomach. 13 years ago I got for free a sheppard/Lab mix female. After having her a couple of months we decided to get her a companion (Buddy). My wife and I had been just married the year before and this was the start of our family. Maiden (our sheppard) is still alive but her rear legs are really suffering. I'm afraid she won't last much longer. We had been prepared for Maidens departure but Buddys was a real slap in the face. My kids ( Nicole 10 and Cameron 7) have taken it pretty hard.
Thanks again,
Ed
