I am running Windows 2000 on a kt-333 chipset ECS mb from a Abit Kg7( which broke) and I cannot get the printer to work.

When I hit the test page, my IBM network printer 17 spits out two pages with gibberish on one line near the top of each page.

I tried changing ECP to SPP and vice versa in the BIOS but that does not seem to help.

The network and dialup modem is working fine but I can't print.

Any suggestions?

You should either reinstall the entire OS, or see this link about changing the motherboard without reinstalling the OS. You can probably (but don't blame if something goes wrong) delete the printer and port drivers and just do an update from the Windows install disk.
