You should of at least spent $100 on a card. Most people will agree that $100 is minimum price for a card

I can't imagine how the fx5200 handled NFS Most Wanted, but probably a lot worse than what the 7200 will do in prostreet and gta.

(The fx5200 could harly run NFS underground with min settings)

~$76 after rebate/shipping + lifetime warranty + the 90-day step-up program if you decide to get something faster later on. No need to bottleneck that system!

that card only has a 2 year warranty. most people dont realize that not all EVGA cards have a lifetime warranty.

I've ran NFSU on min with quite good fps on P4 1.6 and GF 2 MX220 ...

Most people don't realize you can run Oblivion at 400x320, min settings on an X200 onboard graphics chip. Pretty good frame rates, too -- although it looks like utter ass.

It's possible to run just about any game on ghetto video hardware (like the FX5200 and the 7200) if you are willing to crank resolution and detail and effects WAAAY down. And/or have a tolerance for low frame rates. Course, those games look worse than games from 1998, but hey. At least you can say you've played through them...

I just think it's funny that someone would build a system like this. Top-end parts for the mobo and proc, then screw themselves over on the graphics card by get a crippled, obsoleted product.

well my main purpose of the box is for Autodesk inventor which is not that Graphics card intensive AFAIK

Autodesk inventor seems to do 3d modeling, rendering and possibly animation.

I have no idea, but it seems like that work may be better served by a GPU rather than CPU. That would be a question for the makers of the software -- would a powerful GPU make the software perform better than a powerful CPU? Does the software use e.g. opengl to do heavy lifting or is it all done on-cpu using the video card as a simple frame buffer?

If the software DOES use opengl or d3d (a pretty good bet for such workstation software) even an entry level card like the 8600GT would do wonders for performance compared to integrated GPU level power of a 7200. The difference between a $40 and $70 GPU can be HUGE.

Wow people get over yourselves, computers do more than gaming and guess what, GPUs are only good for games and video acceleration. Autodesk uses only the CPU for rendering, it and system memory are the most important things. Enough with the "crippled computer because of crippled card" comments.

Do you think Apple ships the Mac Pro with a 7300GT to screw it's users? NO, it's because the 7300GT is a passive cooled card and that's a blessing for people who are going to need the Mac Pro for something other than gaming. Apple offers BTO Quadros and 8800GTs for the gamers and the people who use GPU-accelerated programs.

Anyways, that being said, if you are indeed planning to play the odd game or two, it wouldn't hurt to spend a little more for a 8600GT or something.

I was saying commenting on that,

saying NFSU can be handled by a far older card, and not saying it looked like ProStreet on a Xfire 3870 X2, right ..

You're right, but I must say GPU and card memory are also important for viewport acceleration, I mean it's hard to work on a complex project when you get 0.5fps when rotating in the viewport and waiting 2 seconds for your action to take place. Other than that, yes, GPUs are for real-time low poly and don't participate in rendering (except for software that's actually optimised to use GPU (sort of) in rendering) but then you'd want a Quadro or a FireGL and not a GeForce.
