So I was laying in bed after having this weird dream this morning thinking about how reality shows like Joe Millionare, Survivor, etc and how they keep the confidentiality of the contestants who appear on the show.
Here is what I was thinking...
Ok we all know that these shows are filmed in advance therefore the confidentiality of who gets "voted off" or "eliminated" is of extreme value to the companies that make these shows. Lets say in Joe Millionare, Julie or whoever, is the first to be eliminated and has to leave the show. If the show was filmed months before the first episode, what does Julie do in the meantime?
So I'm thinking she obviously has to sign all sorts of agreements that she doesn't give out information about the show. Lets say that you know Julie, and have heard that she is going away to be on some reality TV show. This is all you know... You don't know it's Joe Millionare, in fact you have never heard of such a show UNTIL it airs on Fox and you SEE Julie as a contestant on the show.
4 days after Julie left to be on this reality show, she returns to town. You don't think too much of it, because maybe it was a show like Fear Factor (takes place over a couple days) which would make sense that she wasn't gone for a very long time.
So a few months later, Joe Millionare premiers on Fox, you see Julie on the show. Now you basically know that she didn't make it very far hence you could technically break the news to millions of people worldwide. What do you think?
Just a thought...
