I HAD an A8N32-SLI..... Problems.

I finally got an A8N32 yesterday but already had to RMA it. The first problem was that the CPU fan header wouldn't work. I was using a Zalman CNPS9500 LED heatsink and the fan would light up but not spin. No other fan I tried would spin when connected to that header. POST displayed a CPU FAN ERROR message as well.

The second problem was that XP Pro wouldn't install. After copying the setup files and rebooting I got a BSOD with a message saying that the BIOS was not ACPI compliant and that I should update. I looked on the ASUS site for a more recent BIOS and the most recent was the 1009 BIOS which the board came installed with. I tried pressing F7 during setup but this didn't help.

Had it not been for the fan problem then I would have kept the board and figured out the ACPI problem. FedEx wanted 50 bucks for 2 day shipping for the RMA and there is no way I was paying that so I had to send it back ground. Even though I ordered it 2 day from Mwave, they will still only ship it back ground which I think is totally bogus and will probably keep me from ever buying from them again. At least Newegg sends the RMA item back the same way you originally bought it. The bottom line is that I will probably not see another board for at least 12-14 days.

This blows.
