so i took my car to costco to repair a flat tire the other day. i went in at 4pm and was told that it would take around 2+ hours. i said that was fine and then had a friend pick me up to go play basketball. after a couple hours of playing ball, i went to go pick up my car.
when i get there costco tells me that they were unable to repair my tire since the nail was too far out to the side. they asked if i want to special order the tire or not and i said maybe later. so then they go off to get me my keys, but they seemed to have misplaced it. they were looking around, calling people to see if anyone mistakenly took it, still no luck after about an hour.
by now, it's after 9pm and costco is closing up and i've got no keys. finally a manager comes out and he looks around himself to no avail. he tells me he's sincerely sorry for the trouble, asks if i have a ride home and that they would continue to look for the keys. he said if they couldn't find it and if i didn't have a spare, they would call a locksmith out the next day and that they would make it up to me somehow.
so now while i'm typing this, i missed a day of work, i have no ride to costco to test out my many spare keys, and i'm wondering what is costco going to do to make up for this blunder?
cliff notes:
took my car to costco to repair a flat tire
they couldn't fix it but they did lose my keys
i'm stuck at home with no ride to costco and missing a day of work
*update* to compensate me for my trouble, costco installed two tires free of charge and offered me a $40 gift card. i'm not really satisfied, but i don't think i'll be making a big deal out of it. from now on i'm just going to stick with Chatsworth Tire, it's a little farther, but they have better selection, prices, and service.
