I had a netgear rp614, it died... shop gave me a d-link di-704p

I am just looking on their tech support page and it looks like this router is going to be such a pain in the ass. Should I just go back and demand that they give me the one I was supposed to get? My old one had no problem connecting to mirc, dc++, cs servers and all that other stuff on the net. This one says on the site that you need to go and configure it in the options? Any idea if that actually needs to happen because I have a dynamic ip address so I don't want to have to chance it every week. Any help is greatly appreciated. And the d-link one is ugly as hell, netgear looked nice and smoothe.
