I've been thinking of picking up a beater just to slog all the highway miles on when I do road trips back home. Check with State Farm, and sure enough, it means absolutely dick. Yay for a clean record and a CDN$250/mo insurance bill. :p

Sidebar - No, there is no point to this thread.

For those of you who seem to have reading troubles with my first response, Geico would have cost more. Thank you.

No, $20 total.

And it's because I'm already getting shafted for $250 to start with. Insurance is already at "balls deep" status - they can't really f*ck me over much harder. :p

(And Geico was more.)

Thankfully it will go down a bit when you turn 25. Other than that... yeah... you're definitely at max-pwned status.

Mine went up when they found out I moved

Different locations, different rates. Same frickin' BS...

You bought that new car to drive it... so... drive it... ?

Its not like you need two cars... or even like the car you have is hard on gas or anything else...

Yeah, but when a trip home racks up ~1600km, that's some wear and tear I want put on Old Smokey. :)

Huh? That's interesting - I pay $140/mo for my 1st car and $120/mo for my second. This is about my 3rd insurance carrier and they've all been priced similarly. (except for the one that was $230 a month first and $120/mo second)

They basically explained to me that if I have 2 cars and 2 license plates, they just go under the assumption that I must be constantly loaning one car out to an inunsured driver, therefore there was no chance of me paying less.
