I guess no dealer wants my business...

Gibson486

Contacted 5 Mazda dealers on Monday to get my car fixed (engine problem). None have called me back. Called again on Weds to follow up and left internet queries, they all said we will call you back. Nope....still waiting. I guess no one wants my business.....

I do not want to bring my car to the dealer and then find out they will not supply a loaner car b/c of some dumb reason......

Why would you expect the dealer to supply a loaner car? It is virtually unheard of unless you have a warranty that pays for a loaner or you are willing to pay for it.

don't know about you, but most dealers around here supply a loaner if you car sits over night and your bill is more than $100.

Unless you bought your car at the dealer doing the repairs I doubt you'll find many willing to give you a loaner unless you drive a BMW/Infiniti/M-B/Lexus type car.

BMW has cut way back on loaner cars. They never had very many at my dealership and used to shuttle you to work/home on then pay for your taxi on the way back.

now they give you a piece of paper that says its your own responsibility.

Porsche still gives you cars, I dropped my car off and they were out of loaners so they just let me take a used car off the lot.

Infiniti definitely gives loaners. I recently took my car in for service and they gave me a G35 as a loaner.

I always get a loaner at my BMW dealer, even if it's a non-warranty service (e.g., an out-of-cycle oil change or brake flush). Guess I'm lucky!

When I've had other cars (e.g., Nissan, Honda), they just drove me to the destination of my choice in a courtesy shuttle.

most of the mazda dealers near me give you loaners. I got a loaner when i brought it in for my first oil change....granted that was 2 years ago.

When I had my car overnight at a Dodge Dealership they didn't give me a loaner. I'd expect luxury cars to get loaners but not a Mazda.

I had to leave my (old) mazda for services for more than 3 hours and they let me have a loaner.

all the BMW dealers in silicon valley are awful in 2.5 years of ownership of my Z4 i never got a loaner car. I suppose it had something to do with the fact that it was a lease transfer, but I still serviced it at the originating dealer. Then they got angry when I bought it out from BMWFS instead of the dealer b/c they wouldn't match the incentives BMW was offering directly.

You all have nicer dealers.. when I had a Nissan they didn't give me a loaner and carmax (pos company) never gave me one.

There's a 2 week wait on loaners at my dealer but they only give it to you if you bought the car there... another dealership flat-out said no loaner.

What year car?
Maybe they dont want to work on it....

We don't like older cars at my dealership......they are generally junk and not well maintained.
we seem to get them only when their own mechanics gives up and the customer has no other choice but to go to the dealer ......then they cry that we are too expensive.....my reply is "then junk the car" ..🙂

not saying this is the case with you, just giving you another POV that's all...

and yeah, no loaners.....they all got destroyed last year.....6 new fords wrecked by assholes......they can walk now.

it's an 07. It has higher mileage than most (41K), though. I woulod bring it to a regular mechanic, but this is under warrenty and their is a TSB for this problem (well, there are a few). I am thinking about just dropping it off and having my gf pick me up. She works close to home, so maybe I can just take her car for the day.

Depends on dealer, I guess. I have two dealerships I frequently visit, Prestige BMW & Park Ave BMW. Prestige is always giving me a loaner, 328 xi, for any service. Last time was a month ago, so it's pretty recent. Park Ave also gives a loaner, but some crappy one like Suzuki Aveo last time, and that's why I am not visiting them since last September.

But both has been giving out loaner all the time for any service. It's true that BMW asked dealership to reduce the # of loaner fleet, but most of dealers in my area still give out loaner quite well. (Prestige even arranges a rent car with Hertz if their loaner lot is empty)

Well if that's the case, contact Mazda corporate and tell them whats going on....force their hand at the dealer....they owe you a repair and they should do it in a timely manner....
its dealers like this that give them all a bad name..🙂

This is honestly surprising. I never got a loaner car for my Mercedes when it's in the shop (2006, includes maintenance and warranty work)and I am otherwise happy with my dealer. They are probably the most professional and courtesy of all the Mercedes dealers in my area.

I don't know about Nissan, Honda, Toyota.

But Acura ,Infiniti,Lexus, and Audi all give out loaners if your car needs to be in the shop more then a few hours.

Maybe its just the luxury Brands.

Yup, even if I'm just getting the oil changed they try to give me a loaner for the day. I don't usually take it though.
